Full list of the 133 ‘Useless’ degree courses rejected by CUE

Commission for University Education (CUE) is the body that controls and approves all academic programs taught in Kenyan Universities. Last month this body rejected 133 degree courses. On the contrary, these courses are still being offered in different Kenyan universities. The body claims that these courses are useless in the modern world.

The CEO of Commission for University Education (CUE) Prof Mwendwa Ntarangwi, says that there are ongoing consultations with universities for this purpose. Over 10,000 students are studying these courses currently at different universities. These students might sooner or later be forced to discontinue.

On the other hand those that have already graduated, in spite of their hard work, their academic papers wont be recognised by employers.

Another worry is some students may have been placed to study these courses by Kenya Universities and colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS). With this in mind they should consider changing the courses to be on the safe side.

Below is a list of those recently rejected 133 degree courses –
